Types Of Massages

We offer a variety of specialized massage treatments here at Mississauga Pelvic Health.

Prenatal Massage:
Prenatal massage is a specialized treatment tailored to the needs of expectant mothers. Using supportive techniques helps relieve common pregnancy discomforts such as lower back pain, hip/glute tension, sciatica, leg swelling, and fatigue.
This massage promotes circulation, reduces stress and strain on the body, and supports overall well-being throughout pregnancy while ensuring comfort and safety for both mother and baby.
Postpartum Massage:

Postpartum massage focuses on supporting the mother’s recovery after childbirth. It helps ease muscle soreness from labour and delivery, improve posture and reduce mid and lower back pain affected by feeding or carrying the baby, and addresses scar tissue in the event of a caesarian birth.
This treatment also enhances circulation, assists with fluid retention, and provides emotional support during the postpartum transition.

Paediatric/Infant Massage:
Paediatric and infant massage uses gentle, nurturing touch to support a child’s physical development and address any body tension. For infants, it can help with body tension, digestion, sleep, and feeding.
For older children, it may assist with muscle tension, growing pains, and relaxation. This safe, soothing technique fosters comfort, trust, and overall well-being.
Swedish Massage:

Swedish massage is a classic, full-body relaxation technique that combines long gliding strokes, kneading, and gentle circular movements. It improves blood flow, relieves muscle tension, and promotes overall relaxation and stress relief. This soothing massage is ideal for individuals seeking to unwind, improve circulation, and enhance their sense of well-being.

Deep Tissue Massage:
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue to address chronic tension, tightness, and restricted movement. Through slow, firm strokes and deep pressure, it helps break down adhesions, release knots, and improve mobility. It is especially beneficial for individuals with long-term muscle pain, poor posture, or repetitive strain injuries.
Trigger Point Release:

Trigger point therapy focuses on releasing specific areas of muscle tightness, known as “trigger points,” that can cause referred pain and discomfort in other parts of the body. By applying sustained pressure and gentle stretching, this technique helps deactivate these points, reduce pain, and restore normal muscle function and flexibility.
